Our recognition level is 125% and we are 25% black owned, with 14.60% of our ownership being black female. The B-BBEE Act is an incredible piece of legislation that is aimed at enhancing the participation of Black people in the South African Economy and as an organisation, we believe that we have truly developed a morally sound business model that seeks to truly empower, rather than simply enrich. This approach is based on the belief that investment in education leads to holistic and sustainable empowerment.
DSV is committed to actively improving all areas of our business in order to progressively increase our contribution to B-BBEE. Our strategy in the next few years is to focus on the elements of Enterprise & Supplier Development and Socio-Economic Development. This strategy will see us dramatically increase our spend with empowered suppliers as well as actively engage in supplier and enterprise development through our Black Woman in Transport initiative. Through the UTi Empowerment Trust we will continue to assist and promote tertiary education amongst the youth of South Africa. With targeted training and recruitment we intended to promote the representation of designated groups throughout all levels of management.
