Nissan SA Aftermarket entrusted DSV SCI team to conduct an end to end supply chain network study. The main areas of focus for the study included the planning for a 2022 growth strategy and benchmarking Nissan`s Aftersales supply chain to best practise in the market. The results from the study showed that same day service levels can be increased by as much as 20% for a 2% investment in supply chain cost.
In a presentation at SAPICS 2019, Nick Jordaan, lead for Sub-Saharan Supply Chain Modelling at DSV, and Flip Engelbrecht, Senior Manager of Procurement, Inventory Control, Technical Information and Systems at Nissan (pictured above), were speaking about the results of Nissan’s Aftermarket Network Study done on the best practice approach to do network modelling and how it supports the supply chain executive`s decisions.
Among the focus items were aligning all business strategies to operations before modelling the network, ensuring the evaluation of all supply chain ERP data before engaging for Network Study, and always ensuring the network is continuously evaluated to align the network with the supply chain strategy.
